The first one is a tri-fold shutter card, which looks tricky but is actually quite simple. Cut a piece of cardstock 5"x12", then score at 2",4",8"&10". Measure in 1 1/2" from each long edge & cut between the 2"&10" score lines. If you cut your DSP for each section slighly smaller this will ensure it doesnt buckle when folded.

The next two cards are using and same layout style (from the Clean&Simple blog which has some fantastic simple card ideas). The first uses the scallop punch & cutting to the centre to make the flower petals. I've rolled the edges of each petal with a skinny skewer to give the petals some depth. The second card is a masculine card using the circle & star punches.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 149px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglStPfXdGnXe3flSQ1xc_IWALnH40itA26aT6js8hobipVOChiFB-klw_IcbggWVXQmchYebRCn-oNyjVt4rN4CF5qew0XOnL9RLAYchyphenhyphenWh8KR4q997kQE5Pl337y6VH0mFZYjlFf2VsY/s200/thank+you+card.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360485347658667698" /> <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9TBMckgmWmBUykQTZtpTCsNZC-VoNV3yA24Ea2wXrvXb31g1PJO36fdnEUluhLd9Lv2h2x5jcXe14T7wtNuctOxvotGwBf09ROiJGqUXa6iUFdUX-vjZkyLHyFzMQYKYrgc1Etx6WiQI/s200/Male+RedStar.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360484468367977938" />Nikki Holmeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10434044545181278769noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8605512676340777435.post-29490915880686220662009-06-02T13:17:00.007+10:002009-06-02T13:31:34.555+10:00It's Been a While....I've been out of action for a while - and this little pic is the reason - Miss Poppy Jemima Hale born 29 Jan 2009. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDTe86Ko4oZKANGfhCEnopcgA6GM6R3U83nbMi08X1TOX2DN0UymquUV4NHgjGhiycn1aFfRui9jv8baUKmypbYf93jJWNLqzA_839M73eRORWUkrGs6Qv3JjK2kXdmeKOZ0ks3nQkB0c/s200/Melbourne+April+09+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342564824320735362" />

Latest cards from my monthly workshops below. Here a a few of the card ideas from Mel & my workshops. The first is a mini treat bag - someone from Brisbane Convention did this as a swap. The trouble is there are so many beautiful cards it's difficult to put all of them on the website. Here are just a few. The first one uses the Bud Basics set - this is really becoming one of my favourites - it's so versatile. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcT4ph10IAmLnHkdNrzinZ5oBNL5bjFIRMWipEdGyVomUaPz-NqUqaF-hM9mjJ2mwW1D-I3sAiscVbEiu39GD5eFbBsvGiC1wOvp1ru4Gj5LafE2wke4Xir6uKnf0Iqr0rUbaWRJmU1J0/s200/BudBasicsHotPink.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5196844475427585154" /> The water colour cards using Seaside (p85) and Natural Beauty (p84) are from Alisa Tilsner - an SU Demonstrator from South Australia. The pattern for these can be found on the Split Coast Stampers website.Nikki Holmeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10434044545181278769noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8605512676340777435.post-78731063264355728682008-04-22T20:56:00.010+10:002008-04-22T21:26:29.330+10:00<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJNPY3TB5ddQkDDQld-RzS7gEzRq-69klVK_H8FiFg562_8hapCKl3VtxJkbBYFGSCV7z5_wS1FgT466jFXlZVDfld5F8BxVWNrjE8dcT4Gy75LhGJmhWuJoIPVH2cHIY2WcWrEaNtzRE/s200/bud+basics.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192028043267275826" /> Whilst I was having a tidy up I decided I needed to use up some of the bits and pieces I have collected. The first was an experiment with wet-paper watercolouring using Bud Basics (p78) - a technique demonstrated at Brisbane Convention. Also tested out my new Crop-a-dile (brilliant) and the jumbo eyelets and also the 1.6cm Grosgrain ribbon. Not a bad effort for a few scraps.

Next I was wanting to try out my new scallop punch - as the girls from convention will testify - gotta love this punch. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNJCvxqycgWEZnipyfboB7a7067ZVXjHgVAc5RZ5KrYR8mHW_gbk7La6fb5K_HdDUCmxTSe791M_d9NkEGWCZSTDfYIKepUaFTx-06HwfGPlZnb6bXsIcj17ig_rkjcnDofkdGSpeIIfI/s200/scallop+punch.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192028520008645698" /> This card is the result of a couple of extra pieces leftover from another convention make-and-take - Forever in My Heart set (p32) and the flower from Baroque Motifs (p98).Nikki Holmeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10434044545181278769noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8605512676340777435.post-28761195311238542712008-03-28T21:20:00.010+11:002008-03-28T21:42:28.829+11:002008-2009 Ideas Book - Out 1 April 2008Well finally the new ideas book has arrived.
