Cards from my Sister

These are two cards my sister, Ali made a while ago which I think are really cute stuff. I love the use of the ants.

July Workshop

These are the cards from the July workshop. The first one is a tri-fold shutter card, which looks tricky but is actually quite simple. Cut a piece of cardstock 5"x12", then score at 2",4",8"&10". Measure in 1 1/2" from each long edge & cut between the 2"&10" score lines. If you cut your DSP for each section slighly smaller this will ensure it doesnt buckle when folded.

The next two cards are using and same layout style (from the Clean&Simple blog which has some fantastic simple card ideas). The first uses the scallop punch & cutting to the centre to make the flower petals. I've rolled the edges of each petal with a skinny skewer to give the petals some depth. The second card is a masculine card using the circle & star punches.

It's Been a While....

I've been out of action for a while - and this little pic is the reason - Miss Poppy Jemima Hale born 29 Jan 2009.

Latest cards from my monthly workshops below. Really missing Melissa and her ideas!! The first one is using the Flower for All Seasons stamp and the Eyelet Boarder Punch.

This cute little flower pot idea came from a US SU Demonstrator. Quick and easy with the Die Cut Flowers.

The third card is using the Upsy Daisy Stamp. Stamping in one colour and then stamping over the top of the image in another colour - offsetting it slightly to creat a silhouette.

Back in the Land of the Living

Well it's been a while since I've managed to update my blog!! Here a a few of the card ideas from Mel & my workshops. The first is a mini treat bag - someone from Brisbane Convention did this as a swap. I've added a bean handle instead of a ribbon handle. I always like the look of black embossing on grey.

Convention Creations

Finally I've uploaded my pics of the great creations at Convention. The trouble is there are so many beautiful cards it's difficult to put all of them on the website. Here are just a few. The first one uses the Bud Basics set - this is really becoming one of my favourites - it's so versatile. The water colour cards using Seaside (p85) and Natural Beauty (p84) are from Alisa Tilsner - an SU Demonstrator from South Australia. Her watercolour cards are simply stunning.
The Hello card is using the Crab and Company (p55) - the net on this card is a great effect. Lastly - use of the white gel pen for stitching on the flowers - very cute. There are loads more. I think I'll add a few each month instead of uploading them all.

Technique Workshop

Check out this cute door prize idea Mel & I used for our technique workshop last week. This is a Thanks Box and the pattern can be printed straight on to any colour card stock. We also made 2-5-7-10 Boxes which are great for presents for Mothers Day. The pattern for these can be found on the Split Coast Stampers website.

Whilst I was having a tidy up I decided I needed to use up some of the bits and pieces I have collected. The first was an experiment with wet-paper watercolouring using Bud Basics (p78) - a technique demonstrated at Brisbane Convention. Also tested out my new Crop-a-dile (brilliant) and the jumbo eyelets and also the 1.6cm Grosgrain ribbon. Not a bad effort for a few scraps.

Next I was wanting to try out my new scallop punch - as the girls from convention will testify - gotta love this punch. This card is the result of a couple of extra pieces leftover from another convention make-and-take - Forever in My Heart set (p32) and the flower from Baroque Motifs (p98).
